Watch a kid with autism sometimes quote back to you whole conversations or dialog from a movie. And then when you try to say something to them, all you get is zilch. It is pretty obvious that there is a mind in there somewhere, you just happen to be unable to reach it. Please do not be too hard on yourself; it does not imply that you are a bad parent, merely that your child needs your love then more than before.
Encopresis is a painful syndrome that often comes along with autism. It is caused by partial blockage of your large intestine, often by hard stool, a situation that a lot of people suspect to increase your allergies and affect your immune system.
